The Boeing Company Mid-Level User Experience Specialist in Berkeley, Missouri
The Phantom Works (PW) Special Technology capability team within Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is currently looking for a Mid-Level User Experience Specialist (Level 3) to join their team in Berkeley, MO.
This position will focus on architecting Boeing’s user-experience and design approach to model based engineering for signature sustainment and manufacturing. Flex your creative skills to create new designs and workflows for new and existing web-apps. Design the look and feel of our web-apps. Select the tools you prefer. This position puts you in charge of everything related to the design and user-experience of our web-application suite.
Position Responsibilities
Take ownership of design projects and develop UX strategies for a large set of applications
Perform design research and develop page layouts, templates, and web-application user interfaces
Collaborate with engineering, users, and developers
Work with front-end web developers to implement designs
Present detailed designs to teammates, management, and users for feedback
Work Authorization
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualification (Required Skills / Experience)
5+ years of experience with UX/UI
3+ years of experience in following a software development life cycle (i.e., application development & support)
3+ years of experience in graphic design and content development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field
Portfolio of strong creative work
Experience with HTML and CSS
Experience with modern design tools (Figma / Framer / Sketch / etc.)
Knowledge / understanding of how to create web-applications using JavaScript frameworks
Excellent time-management and written/verbal communication skills
Typical Education/Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
