THE DOE RUN COMPANY Process Engineer/Operations Supervisor in Boss, Missouri

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Process Engineer/Operations Supervisor to drive process improvements with a focus on material handling and air quality control equipment at our secondary lead smelter facility in Boss, MO. This position will report through the Environmental Services department, but will work closely with plant operations and maintenance to minimize facility impact to land, air, and water, increase air quality control efficiency and safety while limiting environmental impact.Responsibilities:Define and optimize process limits giving consideration to safety, quality, and the environmentSupervise Yard/Scrubber/Baghouse activities and personnelProject management of scrubber, baghouse, and ventilation improvementIdentify and direct maintenance and capital improvements for optimal performanceBe familiar with environmental regulations and standards, and ensure that you are meeting all applicable standardsIdentify, develop and implement necessary Operation and Maintenance proceduresIdentify root causes and recommend appropriate, proactive corrective actionsDevelop and implement necessary SOPsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering ,Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferredA minimum of 3 years hands-on work experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of measurable resultsA minimum of 2 years prior supervisory experience is preferredAir Pollution Control experience is preferredExcellent interpersonal, collaboration, and critical thinking skillsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationProject Management experienceMust be proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook; Microsoft Access a plusKnowledge of RCRA and the Clean Air Act and /or other environmental laws a plusFamiliarity with ISO Standards a plusDuties will require the use of company provided personal protective equipment including but not limited to: a respirator, coveralls, and metatarsal guard boots.Based in St. Louis, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest integrated lead producers in the Western Hemisphere.
