Description
Evening ShiftResponsible for Materials Management activities including Purchasing, Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Management, etc, for all SoutheastHEALTH regional facilitiesBegin
Assists in establishment and maintenance of PAR levels and reorder points for all items for the department Involved in the yearly/bi-yearly physical inventory. Ensures that the inventory is performed correctly and that counts are correct along with Materials Management Coordinator
Works with the Buyers to report shortages, damages, and defective products
Maintains current knowledge of materials management issues by participating in continuing education
Consistently Practices a system of stock rotation in storeroom and other stock locations
Demonstrates a high regard for dignity and worth of patients and their families
Demonstrates flexibility and excellent organization skills; high attention to detail
Assists with consolidation of items and inventory reduction strategies
Utilizes LEAN principles in regard to organization and maintenance of entire storeroom and personal work area
Reports slow or non-moving items
Works to decrease inventory stock levels while maintaining adequate stock on hand
Communicate with OR Leadership Staff, Biomedical and Materials Management regarding repairs and returns
Notifies staff of back orders and shortages
Performs other duties as assigned
Become
Education: High school graduate. Training in the operating room with additional education in business, accounting, inventory management and computers preferred. Associate Degree in business or related field preferred
Experience: Minimum of two years experience in the Operating Room, Central Service or Materials Management preferred
Skills: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must demonstrate proficiency in Word and Excel. Ability to create graphs, charts and run basic reports when requested
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving conflicting resources or priorities
Personal: Positive attitude and team player is essential. Ability to represent Southeast Missouri Hospital in professional and social settings within the facility, to outside vendors, and other professional contacts
Mental Demands: Must be organized and self-disciplined with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be independent and self-motivated
Must possess Class E license
Must be able to read, write and speak English
