DescriptionTrinity Marine Products is searching for Career Painterin our Caruthersville, MO barge plant.Trinity Marine Products, Inc. (TMP) is a leading U.S. manufacturer of barges that transport dry and liquid cargoes on inland waterways.TMP manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum and other refined products, chemicals, fertilizer, ethanol, and other liquid cargoes.TMP also manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges that transport a variety of products, such as grain, coal, and aggregates.As a Painter you will prepare materials, surfaces and structures for coverage with paint; apply coatings to specifications and complete detailed special applications as appropriate to the surface and final product requirements.What You'll Do:Prepare, coat and finish metal and/or other surfacesOperate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply primers,intermediate and final coatings on metal and other types of surfacesMix and apply alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and water borne paint systems according to a prescribed formulaAdjust nozzles on spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solutionProperly use wet and dry Mil gauges for testing coatingsProduce dry film thickness and defective-free paint jobs with no holidays, pinholes, sags, runs, or orange-peelClean paint lines, paint guns and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working orderInspect barges to locate missed areasPerform duties of Prep Worker when neededOperate specialized equipment and understand complex drawings and diagramsMaintain technical certificates as requiredInitiate and maintain all applicable paperwork as requiredPerform other duties as assignedFollow all safety rules and proceduresShift Schedule: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-ThursdayQualificationsWhat You'll Need:1 or more years of industrial painting experience is preferredThorough knowledge of safety and paint equipment including sizing tips, pump pressures, re-coat times and effects of weather on any applicable paint system.Able to apply interior and exterior coatingsProficient use of spray and hand-held application of interior coatingsAbility to produce a product that requires little or no touch-upAbility to read shop orders and paint specificationsPrevious manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience is preferredDesire and willingness to train up to next levelPlease include a detailed description of your paint experience and your pay expectations when applying.VEVRAA Federal ContractorEqual Opportunity Employerminorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
