While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for operating an extruder, thermoformer, and trimpress operate only, setups made by others. May make certain adjustments during production and work performed under general direction. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. The Supervisor will assign the employee a line on which to work for a specified period of time. Ideally, the operator will be assigned to the same line on an ongoing basis; the line assignment is not guaranteed. The employee will be called upon to relieve co-workers for breaks on occasion. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail. Day to day responsibilities include: * Responsible for the proper operation of the extrusion/thermoforming line. * Must demonstrate working knowledge of plant processing equipment and have an aptitude for problem solving. * Requires SPC certification within 1 year. * Must be able to properly set-up, startup, operate and shutdown all production equipment. * Will troubleshoot and correct processing problems. * Record and share information with other team members to maintain quality and machine efficiencies. * Performs quality audits. * Relieve inspector/packers. * Coordinate line requirements with other departments Maintenance, Material Handling, and QA. * Must be proficient on all paperwork * Other duties as requested by Supervisor This position is in our Plastics plant in beautiful Chillicothe, MO where we are producing plastic thermoformed trays. * 1 year of experience in packing/warehousing or equivalent education * Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed. * Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must. * Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success. * You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time. * You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret documents such as: operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
