The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Leading and assisting in development and qualifications for media manufacturing processes supporting a revolutionary line of BioPharma purification products
Identifying, initiating, and leading projects to improve process safety, quality, service, cost, capacity, and productivity
Working closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve and improve equipment downtime issues
Creating and updating standard work, operating procedures, and test methods, and train affected personnel
Responding to quality issues and audit findings with thorough root cause analysis and highly effective corrective actions
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years of manufacturing, laboratory, or production experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Masters or PhD degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
Five (5) years of process engineering experience in within a manufacturing and/or industrial setting
Demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills
Understanding of polymer chemistry
Experience with process validation and documentation
Hands on approach with demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage different priorities
Self-starter/self-directed individual that leads with high energy and passion and work with minimal supervision or guidance
Training and experience in Lean methodology, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial.
The ability to perform root cause analysis and apply system thinking in problem solving
Ability to motivate others by training, guiding, coaching, and achieving results through team participation and collaboration
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency
Personal computer proficiency
Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: Is authorized
