PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in St. Louis, MO

Job Purpose

To lead the development of the supplier quality program to serve the needs of the supply chain and procurement processes in the St. Louis business units.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop supplier quality program that will comply with ISO regulations and meet the standards and needs of client services St. Louis individual business units

  • Maintain, in partnership with the Sourcing Manager, the approved supplier list for client.

  • Able to interpret drawings, military specifications and have knowledge of GD&T Principles.

  • Develop buyer training programs for quality problem resolution.

  • Manage the CAST program (consultation-action-selection-termination).

  • Manage SCAR (supplier corrective action request) when called upon to do so.

  • Report to upper management monthly status of supplier quality.

  • Report client supplier quality cost on a monthly basis.

  • Conduct supplier assessments and manage the supplier assessment data base.

  • Work with the lean manufacturing team to implement best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with the approved US Government sourcing and procurement procedures (i.e. FAR and DFAR).

  • Manage and report on the SPI program (supplier performance indicators).

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement and supplier quality web site

  • Develop and implement effective communication processes with the supplier community.

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building.

  • Prepare and present to client customers the Supplier Quality Program.

Education

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

  • 7+ years’ experience in the manufacturing engineering field or a MS Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline and 5+ years of experience

  • Three plus years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment including implementation of supplier and internal quality systems.

Experience

  • Qualified in SPC, SMEA, DSM, GFA and lean manufacturing.

  • Aerostructures (metallics and/or composites) experience.

  • Minimum of two years prior experience as a Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Engineer in an ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

  • DCMA experience is highly desired

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a work stations and using office equipment.

  • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods

  • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available

  • Must occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials

  • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
