Manufacturing Assembler PR8252Phos Tank TraineePRIMARY DUTIES The person will be responsible for the Phos Tank operation as dictated by production needsThis person will use hand-held controlled lifting crane to move product from skids and into the Phos Tank operations.The Phos Tank duties require that the product is put through a 3 step process to prepare metals for the painting department.The Phos Tank is an above-ground chemical basin which has separate compartments and requires that the person be able to maneuver the product into the 3 separate compartments with the assistance of the cranes. The Phos Tank is about 4 feet high about about 140 square feet in total. The use of hand-held scrubbers and wire brushes is a daily activity especially in the 1st step of the process.Emptying and refilling the tanks is also part of the daily duties.Due to the size of the tank and the repetitive over-head reaching/pushing/pulling required for the Phos Tank Operation, for Safety Reasons, an above-average height individual would be ideal.When work flow slows down in the Phos Tank, this person would also be cross trained as an Assembler in our naval product line but Phos Tank duties would always remain their primary responsibility.GENERAL RESPONSABILITIESResponsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget Follows written work instructions must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS) Proper use of required PPE May participate in LEAN Events, Six S activities, action teams etc Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization ASSEMBLER JOB DESCRIPTION - SECONDARY DUTIES Performs entry-level assembly functions, which may include: prep, mechanical , harness, cable, printed circuit board sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection, typically working from models and/or drawings, within Production Perform simple assemblies and hardware installation screws, washers, nuts and have basic understanding of build documentation Perform pull-test and verify tooling, use torque tools and have the ability to interpret and assemble multiple units in dept Basic troubleshooting Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS) Must be able to access production tools (routers, parts list, work instructions, etc) and be able to wire prep, auto bond, sleeving
