The Position of Operations/Engeering Superintendent is essential to the Phosphate Operations by overseeing all aspects of plant operations and providing direct supervision to all Operations Personnel in day-to-day activities.

Key Tasks:

  • Responsible for administration of the facility safety program within the site with the assurance that all safety procedures are followed throughout the site to assure compliance with OSHA and company policies. This position is responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards as established by management. The position is responsible for support of the plant emergency response procedures.

  • PSM (Process Safety Management) as required for the entire facility. This includes organizing process hazard reviews, safety equipment testing. And strict adherence to all elements of the program.

  • Administration and monitoring of the facility environmental programs as they pertain to the operations. This includes assurance of compliance with all environmental permits and any emission limits which they impose.

  • Responsible for product quality of all production including meeting all product specifications. This includes meeting all safe feed/safe food standards as applicable to the facility. Also included is assuring timely shipment to customers, support of customer and other quality audits.

  • Providing providing engineering support for plan projects, particularly those within the operations department or pertaining to process design. This may included developing project scope, assisting with funding approbals, and project management.

  • Day to day supervision of all operations personnel

  • Manage rail yard with incoming cars, outgoing cars, and switching as necessary

  • Provide reports on production activities to management personnel as requested

  • Control product costs through maximizing of production rates, control of spending, and efficient use of personnel to reduce overtime and meeting budget goals

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge or spreadsheets and word processing. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to utilize general office equipment, computer equipment, and software

  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)

  • The ability to travel to each feed plant and necessary locations for meetings, audits and training.

  • Ability to perform assigned duties with frequent interruptions

  • The ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously (multi-tasking)

  • Ability to adhere to plant policies and procedures regarding safet

  • Ability to utilize necessary plant equipment and assist in trouble shooting

  • Able to perform assigned duties both inside and outside

  • Must be able to physically perform standing, bending, lifting, stairs, ladders, lifting 60 pounds, and other active duties

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in related field

  • 4-6 years in a supervisory or leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field

  • 10 years in a supervisory or leadership role

  • Experience in process design
