Civil Engineer 4 - Hydropower
Applying civil or mechanical technical knowledge to the Hydropower market. Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role, designing new and retrofit hydropower projects. Opportunity for growth in leadership roles within the Hydropower department. Facilitate/mentor more junior engineers entering the Hydropower field.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties are to provide consulting engineering role in the Hydropower industry. This includes developing the following deliverables: engineering calculations, design drawings, technical memoranda and reports, construction specifications, shop drawing review reports, site inspection reports, engineering opinion of probable construction cost, proposal development, and permitting documents. Duties will also include mentoring more Junior engineers, providing markups and direction to CAD technicians, performing quality review checks for peers or Jr. engineers, and providing input to Hydropower department by taking a role on one of the Communities of Practice within Hydropower. Responsibilities will be to: Continue to learn, remain current and apply independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies and procedures relative to assigned tasks, consistently and independently apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program relative to assigned tasks. Client Focus: Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects. Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects. As needed, provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
