General Electric Materials Planning & Execution Manager in Kansas City, Missouri

Role Summary:

The Materials Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and inventory for the Kansas City Remanufacturing plant. This critical role will focus on improving the flow of incoming material, coordinating delivery to CSC’s and customers, and driving material process discipline and rigor across the facility.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for all materials, Oracle planning (MRP, Min-Max), Proficy and CORES systems, as well as indirect purchasing processes. Also in scope is coordination of KCR production schedules with the plant manager and customers/planners, shipping/receiving functions, waste stream management, and off-site warehousing. This role will assess repair point material flows, identify problems, develop improvements, and work with the plant team to optimize operations. Additional responsibilities include:

• Map out the flow of materials and Unit Exchange (UX) cores within and outside of the repair point

• Work cross-functionally to stabilize material presentation within the plant

• Support farmout projects, training of specific suppliers to help meet business initiatives

• Monitor safety, quality, and lean within repair operation and highlight areas of concern

• Drive standard work for materials team, improve level of training and stabilize team operations

• Continual parts supply to support manufacturing plans while supporting inventory goals

• Coordinate all production teams’ material status (GEMBA model), production priorities, and delivery commitments

• Develop standard work processes for all farmout sources

• Develop, plan, and manage programs to meet GE purchasing commitments in Sourcing

• Manage efficiency of and drive improvements for all plant material/recycling/waste streams

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a Production Planning, Production Control, Sourcing, or Configuration Control role)

• Prior material management experience within a production or service facility

• Experience with Oracle and material planning tools
