Location: Location: North American Distribution Center

Reports to: Kansas City Distribution Center Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities, other duties maybe assigned as business needs determine:

  • Leadership –

  • Ensure compliance with and continuous support of improving the safety of the Team Members

  • Ensure a safe environment and promote safety awareness in the workforce

  • Grows leaders and Team Members through training and development opportunities, one-on-one feedback, competency, BIG10 and career development discussions

  • Develops leaders into cohesive high performing Team

  • Leads cross-functional team including facilities, quality, engineering, and maintenance Team Members in support of operations

  • Maintain adequate level of resources and continuously improve performance of assigned resources, i.e. manpower, equipment, departments, etc.

  • Foster environment of teamwork between Operations, and support departments to address daily issues and meet long term objectives

  • Develop subordinate leaders and staff members

  • Jointly develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, strategies, and plans for the DC

  • Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents

  • Enforce accountability among managers and supervisors for implementation of best practices and engage all team members in following best practices

  • Provide technical direction/guidance to employees at all levels by simplifying complex processes and procedures to achieve desired results

  • Lead and assemble cross-functional project teams

  • Operations -

  • Balance the day-to-day business while driving the organization toward operational excellence

  • Develop and encourage lean principals in all aspects of the operations

  • Identify appropriate interventions and countermeasures to meet group objectives for quality, cost, delivery, and engagement

  • Determine manpower and machine requirements to meet customer needs

  • Directs the maintenance programs and processes of the assigned plant(s) to ensure timely and effective production, Coordinates with other management staff to ensure efficiency in preventative maintenance and new equipment installation

  • Oversees facilities design and inspection, equipment repair and installation

  • Establish and track key indicators and targets for business performance to meet goals

  • Continuously improve capability and reliability of processes

  • Develop annual operating budgets for support departments, take countermeasures when necessary

  • Determine capital equipment needs, submit capital proposals, and lead project from inception to completion

  • Meet or exceed budget expectations

  • Maintain procedures, standardization, and use of quality control tools supporting ISO 9001

  • Ensure operation meets or exceeds all regulatory agencies requirements

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on project process to senior management

    Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or equivalent required

  • Quality experience preferred

  • Masters preferred

    Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of five or more years executing engineering project management: managing and developing direct reports, proven track record in process improvement and Lean Tools

  • Experience implementing and/or managing in a Lean environment

  • 3+ years of experience in quality, engineering, or project management

  • Experience with Safety, asset management, planning, and financial / cost management

  • Sets the standard for safety; leads by example in actions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management software (SAP preferred)

    Availability:

    Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.
