Our transportation practice is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges) to join our rapidly growing practice in our Kansas City, Missouri office. Responsibilities

  • Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on the analysis, design and plan production of structural bridge projects.

  • Responsible for design quality and accuracy of engineering plans, successfully completing assigned projects, and efficiency with budgets and schedules.

  • Serve as a task lead and provide oversight for a wide variety of structural bridge design and associated tasks potentially including geometrics and layout, steel and concrete superstructures, foundations of all types, bridge hydraulics, bridge inspection and load rating, construction engineering, specifications and cost estimates.

  • Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods to resolve important questions.

  • Tackles uncommon or complex structural problems. Mentors less experienced staff on technical aspects of a project.

  • Participation in project team meetings and project presentations including presentations to key project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of related design experience. Must have demonstrated a high level of knowledge in design, calculations and design systems. Strong analytical, problem solving, plan production and project management skills. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microstation, REVIT, RISA and various bridge design software packages is desired. Some field experience is desirable. PE required.
