Burns & McDonnell Staff Mechanical Engineer (Fueling Systems) in Kansas City, Missouri

Burns & McDonnell's Aviation & Federal Global Practice at World Headquarters is looking to add a mechanical engineer to their growing team! This person will focus primarily on the design of fueling systems. In addition to that he/she will:

  • Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Perform work which primarily involves aviation fueling design, along with conventional engineering practices. Entails coordinating fueling project studies and reporting preparation assignments.

  • This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from accredited program.

  • Minimum 3 years related mechanical fueling systems design experience including storage tanks and piping (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.

  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Completion of FE exam.

  • Preference for API 650/653 certification
