WORKING LOCATION:
Kansas City Blades Manufacturing Plant, 4840 East 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64127
BUSINESS PURPOSE:
Under limited supervision, operates computer-controlled machines and robots to perform one or more machine function on metal parts.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Set-up and Operate Auto-Straightener Stand Alone and Automated Machines
Set-up Duplex Mill
Set up machines
Verify part and order numbers
Use tub traveler to record pertinent data and go/no go blocks to determine proper off set
Operate Machines
Insert blade into the machine and start cycle
Recheck the blade to ensure tolerances are met
Physically load and unload parts manually or using proper material handling equipment
Locate, read, and understand quality documentation
Complete paperwork for documentation purposes as needed
Understand and maintain relationships in the Manufacturing Department
Assist in keeping machines running, including working in other departments as directed
Follow departmental safety requirements
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or nationally recognized accredited equivalent required
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Minimum six months to one year experience in very similar manufacturing environment controlling machine and processes by using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes
Lift/carry up to 35 lbs frequently
Stand for duration of 8-hour or 10-hour shift
English fluency for safety, training and documentation purposes
Ability to effectively work with others in a team environment
Basic math skills required
Basic computer skills
Stable work history with good employment references
Excellent attendance record
AVAILABILITY:
Must be available to work onsite for the following shift(s):
7a-5pm Monday-Thursday with potential for mandatory ovetime of Friday 7a-5p
