Here, you go.Job Summary:The person hired for the position of Value Stream Manager will be responsible for developing and executing manufacturing strategies and operational plans that drive continuous improvement for safety, quality, service, and cost. As such, this person will be a member of the Plant Operating Committee and will collaborate with each member of the plant leadership team to help the plant continuously improve.This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Work with plant management and portfolio/business management to set short and long term strategic plans as well as operating plans for departmentsWork with Product Divisions to drive Customer First initiatives in service, quality, and cost improvementsFocus on the product extended Value Streams to drive improvement for 3MDeep understanding of customer expectations and maintain/develop systems to ensure customer satisfactionInitiate, approve and execute projects in order to improve safety, service quality, and costOrganize and manage all necessary resources required to improve safety, improve quality, increase customer service and lower costDirect responsibility for establishing and maintaining budgets for departmentProvide direct supervision to Engineers, and support groups and set objectives, performance and motivation management and training; will provide strategic direction to plant support functionsDevelop or direct development and approve standard operating, quality and administrative procedures and policies for manufacturing and related operations; oversee the implementation and administration of all company policiesDevelop and maintain annual capital and operating budgets; identify, develop budget for, prioritize and direct justification and implementation of capital projects; monitor progress, initiate corrective action as requiredDirect engineering in resolving issues; review and approve all Engineering Change Requests (EWRs) and Management Of Change (MOCs)Direct and facilitate Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement teams both within and outside of the operations organization to improve customer satisfaction and reduce total costsClearly communicate to all employees within the focus factory the expectations and results of the facilityProviding direction and supervision of direct reports using principal-based leadership strategiesBasic Qualifications: Possess a Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionMinimum eight (8) years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: manufacturing, manufacturing operations, capital projects, EHS, and/or Quality in a private, public, government or military environmentMinimum three (3) years of supervisory experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in a technical field from an accredited universityExperience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology for sustained continuous improvementStrong leadership behaviorsExperience leading high performing cross functional teamsDemonstrated ability to lead attainment of aggressive objectives for EHS, Quality, Service, and Financial PerformanceExcellent written, verbal and presentation communication skillsExperience working with multiple Divisions, balancing multiple prioritiesLSS Black Belt certifiedProgressive thought process and ability to articulate cultural changing strategies to diverse and plant management level leaders.Location: Nevada, MOTravel: May include up to 10% domestic/internationalRelocation: Is authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).VEVRAA Fed
