StandardAero Specialist, Quality Assurance in North Kansas City, Missouri

Position Description Supports and maintains quality system and objectives, as determined by Quality Manager, external customers, accreditation bodies, and regulatory agencies. Plans, develops, delivers and evaluates Quality Assurance training programs to ensure compliance to customer, regulatory and company requirements. Specific Accountabilities * Continuously monitors quality data (warranty, product rectification, customer satisfaction, etc.) for improvement opportunities across the business unit. Works with the business unit strategic group to select, manage, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives * Leads and participates in the business unit quality audit and corrective action process by providing training, facilitation, recommendations and leadership, as required, to achieve optimal results. Assists external auditors from various quality associations. Monitors, reviews and conducts sub-contractor audits in liaison with supplier development. * Monitors warranty procedures including investigation, root-cause, corrective action and follow-up to ensure that continuous improvement is occurring. * Directs the planning, scheduling, implementation, deliverables, evaluation, and troubleshooting activities of multiple assigned special projects by coordinating efforts of various internal departments. * Monitors assigned projects for work in progress to ensure that quality and regulatory standards are met and that planning is effective through the entire process; approves changes to plan or schedules as necessary. Produces periodic project status reports comparing actual to forecasted timelines. * Prepares amendments to policies and procedures pertaining to quality system criteria within the organization. * Provides, on an as required basis, technical advice with respect to quality system criteria, airworthiness and regulatory requirements. * Performs or supports the efforts of others to design, develop and instruct curricula (classroom or on-the-job) utilizing instructional design techniques, including use of learning objectives, lesson plans, teaching aids and assessment materials. * Coordinates the review, amendment, approval and re-issue procedure of all company instructions. * Conducts quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. * Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. * Carries out special projects as assigned. Position Requirements Technical Requirements * Thorough knowledge of ISO 9000 quality system requirements, analytical tools and problem solving methodology (AS9100/AS9100 knowledge is a plus), * Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to maintenance and certification for products processed by the organization. * Strong project and time management, planning, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills. * Thorough knowledge of company instructions, company processes, quality, and original equipment manufacturer manuals. * Thorough knowledge of production/inspection process and systems. * Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment. * Working knowledge of production management computer systems. * Certificate in Quality Engineering/Quality Management; or equivalent experience. Physical Requirements * The ability to lift 25 pounds * The ability to stand for more than 4-6 hours in a day * The ability to respond quickly to sounds * The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly Background Information The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to high school graduation and completion of a training program at a college or technical organization. The person requires an ability to understand, utilize and communicate specialized information in speech and written text. This specialized training is often formalized and recognized by a specific certificate, diploma or license. Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is six to ten years. Ongoing work assignments typically have clearly defined goals, but no (or minimal) direction with respect to what action steps to follow. The incumbent's education, training, and previous experience will help ensure that the goal of the assignment can be clearly defined and understood (even if that means just knowing what relevant questions to ask), but the required/optional approaches to achieving the goal will often remain unclear, undefined and/or untested until the work assignment is well underway.
