The Boeing Company Configuration Management Engineer in Saint Charles, Missouri
The Weapons Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) Team is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer for the Cruise Missile Systems Programs in St. Charles, MO . The successful candidate will be responsible for the processing of change control documents (such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Change Documents (CDs), deviations, and others), conduct of program Change Control Boards (CCB), and assistance with delivery documentation, Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs). Job attributes include: Customer interface, coordination across all program organizations, and engagement in program planning.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:
Participates in the development and management, and performs limited analysis of process and product baselines
Works under general direction to coordinate and conduct product and subsystem level technical design reviews and audits for new and derivative products
Performs routine analysis of product trades and/or changes and assists in the development of change proposals
Participates in the development and implementation of Configuration and Data Management standards, processes, systems and tools
Utilizes data gathered from customers to assist in the definition of Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software and engineering design data systems
Assists in the integration, routine analysis and resolution of issues with engineering product structure
Assists with the development and implementation of engineering technical program plans of limited scope including impacts, risks and incorporation of lessons learned
Works under general supervision
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
2+ years of experience in Configuration Management/Data Management
2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office Applications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2+ years defense program configuration management experience
Demonstrates an interest in personal learning and development as well as process improvement
Understands how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understands the cultures of organizations. Applies this information in a way that contributes to the organization's strategic plan and bottom line
Attention to detail, verbal and written communication across organizations
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
