Position Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a 2019 Summer Intern Logistics Engineer to support technical manual verification efforts on our Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) program. Assists in the evaluation of operational and maintenance procedures and tasks performed on the JAB. Investigates solutions to product or process problems. Key skills are the ability to work and investigate assigned tasks in a team setting and also to collaborate amongst all the technical disciplines to complete the assigned tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgment combined with technical expertise and will possess an ability to communicate effectively to team members from different disciplines. No housing provided.

Possible Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and participate in logistics engineering activities.

  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements.

  • Work closely with an engineering team to review, validate, and verify operational and maintenance procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and design corrective modifications as needed.

  • Provide progress status for logistics assignments periodically.

  • Participate in resolution of technical issues within the company and outside suppliers.

  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customers as required.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision from others.

  • Attend and participate in appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or related technical field.

  • Preferred to have a minimum of 1 other related internship, Co-op experience, or industry experience.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Ability to read and understand commercial and/or military electrical drawings.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools.

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Experience with reading and understanding commercial and/or military electrical drawings.

  • Experience developing custom fixtures for test, evaluation and manufacturing of electrical equipment.
