As a Packaging Specialist, you will provide leadership and support in the areas of packaging design, packaging development, operational capability, technical evaluations, training, etc. to meet divisional needs for packaging used in Litter Products (bags, canisters, cartons, cases, pails, pouches, jugs, date coding, labeling, inserts, palletizing etc.). So, if your full potential could be unleashed, what would you add to the 'mix'?PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and develop packaging and packaging systems to support innovation and renovation from concept through industrialization.Provide Technical Packaging support to a wide variety of internal customer groups including; Marketing, RandD, Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production and Finance.Work closely within the Technical Applications Group (TAG), Technical Packaging, and Procurement teams on container functional specifications to ensure proper machine-container interaction to achieve optimal performance of both machinery and containers.Evaluate and recommend cost effective and capable packaging equipment solutions for existing products as well as new product innovations.Influence continuous improvement of the production packaging operations taking into account optimal quality and economics.Support/Lead the identification and development of new equipment, working externally with vendors, and demonstrating feasibility internal at the lab and pilot plant scales. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to develop capital estimates.Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering to develop 3-5 year Master Plans for each site with focus on packaging equipment systems.Perform all other duties as assignedBASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum)Education:Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Packaging or related technical fieldExperience (Years/Type):5 or more years of experience in technical packaging and packaging processesAbility to travel up to 60%Understanding of Six Sigma methodology is a plusGreen Belt OR Black Belt certification is a plusTo our veterans and separated service members-you're at the forefront of our minds as we recruit top talent to join Nestl Purina.
