CODE 3, INC. Process Engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri

JOB SUMMARYThe Process Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of solutions that enable the electronics assembly process. This role assesses human work factors, material flow, and quality controls to implement permanent solutions that create a safe and efficient work environment for team members. The Process Engineer works with Production leaders to produce documentation, solve day-to-day issues, and implement permanent solutions that improve productivity, reduce waste, and eliminate assembly errors. This position is part of the Manufacturing Support department and reports to the Director of Operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Functions Evaluate equipment, tooling, material handling, and technologies to remove waste and improve efficiency and effectivenessImplement Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma tools and other methodologies to identify waste and create long-term solutionsDesign and build work cells that maximize through-put, quality, and work safety. Implement improvements to reduce cost and improve ROIWork with suppliers on supplier quality issues to find resolutionsCollaborate with other teams such as Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, etc. on continuous improvement initiatives and product quality issuesUtilize statistical controls to monitor manufacturing processes.Evaluate and influence new product designs for manufacturabilitySupport ESG daily production which includes but not limited to BOM fixes, quality issues, and process changes. Write assembly instructions (AIs) and work instructions (WI). Review drawings and other engineering documentation. Complete sub-assembly and finished goods first article reports (FARs). Non-essential Functions (if applicable)Perform or assist with internal and external audits such as ISO or JATF auditsQUALIFICATIONSRequiredA Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience using CAD applications, SolidWorks experience is a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare, present and discuss project-related plans, requirements, and test results in a team-based environmentAbility to take initiative, manage multiple ongoing projects, meet deadlines, and work in a team environmentIntermediate to advanced general computer user abilities to include familiarity with programs including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Desired3 years experience performing similar duties in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
