Align and fit parts according to specifications, using various clamps, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers, etc.Position, align, fit, and weld to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints, and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.Set up and operate fabrication machines, such as saws, rolls, shears, flame cutters, iron workers, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drills; form and assemble metal components.Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions when necessaryWeld separately, or in combination, using, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, and other occasionally alloys.Be proficient in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) as required Capable of working around and using overhead cranes and rigging, as needed.Maintain good housekeeping habitsTurn in all time, required paperwork; to include vendor tickets, andi material requisitionsOperate equipment in a safe mannerOperate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential dutiesWork with and around hazardous materials, as well as at heights and in confined spaces in the performance of these essential dutiesWork in a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerRegular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performancePerform other duties as assignediENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSiExposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions, loud noise, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, varying fumes or odors; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; and work in ditches/excavations Work at heights, such as by working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, tops of single and multi-story buildings, as well as working in confined spaces such as underneath single story and multi-story buildingsMust be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbsMust be able to perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, walking, standing, and carrying; moving materials and manipulating thingsMust be able to work in overhead structures and around and beneath machineryConsiderable physical effort of hands and arms required; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects with considerable weightMust be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and prioritiesMust have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe mannerThis position is subject to ergonomic testingiSAFETY SENSITIVEThis position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle, the operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.
