About The Opportunity
Responsible for the electrical repair and electrical maintenance of machinery and equipment. Responsible for maintaining a safe work area, safe work practices, for high quality, for high productivity, for integrity, and for compliance with Company instructions and directives, including the Company’s prohibition against discrimination and harassment.
Education and Training:
Must have knowledge of shop mathematics, applied electronics and mechanics, industrial machinery, plant and equipment. Must be able to use personal computer and electronic diagnostic equipment. Work from handbook formulas, drawings, sketches and diagrams.
2-3 years experience minimum or an associate’s degree from an accredited trade schoolor apprenticeshipprogram.
Performs all necessary job functions including but not limited to the following:
Maintain, modify, install, rebuild, calibrate, diagnose and repair electrical machinery and equipment which may include work on electrical systems, equipment, devices apparatus, systems or circuits located or used as part of the GKN St. Louis property (as identified in Article 1), utility distribution system, plant equipment,lighting and lighting systems,production equipment, machine tools, air conditioning or refrigeration equipment, instrumentation, and measuring and control devices including fastening, bracketing, or support devices. Additional work may also include network computers and devices used to supply data or monitor machine tool activities, energy, fire alarm, security, public address systems, energy management systems, power monitoring of substations, and Tapp computer system, currently being administered and/or maintained and operated by this unit. It is recognized that the work of the IBEW may be increased through expansion of plant capacity or changes in technology.
Develop and maintain procedures for electrical maintenance activities.
Participate in the prioritization and scheduling of electrical maintenance activities.
Assure that plant and equipment meet production expectations.
As directed, assist any employee in any job classification in the performance of their maintenance duties
Perform any other activity, as directed, required for maintenance. This shall include, movement, packaging, protection and crating of material, product and any manufacturing related items and operation of material handling equipment as required to successfully complete their electrical maintenance tasks.
