YRC Freight Intern - Industrial Engineer in St Louis, Missouri
Perform operational and administrative functions and gain professional experience and exposure in the field of study. Industrial Engineer Internship will gain exposure in the following areas: project management, transportation methodologies and systems, work measurement, route design, dock and service center layout, manpower forecasting, cost/benefit analysis and quantitative analysis using SAS, SQL, and Microsoft Office products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct research and analysis of operations for improved productivity and cost reductions
Develop new processes and formulate recommendations to management
Coordinate with team member on group projects. Develop project management skills
Gain exposure to the business environment.
Perform basic tasks and administrative duties.
Assist in report preparation and analysis.
Participate on group projects.

Grade point average 3.0 or better.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Currently enrolled and pursuing degree in related field.
This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
