Location/Division Specific Information

This inventory management specialist will be based at our St. Louis, MO site, in support of the Biologics Division of our Pharma Services Group.

How will you make an impact?

As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will drive inventory management activities across the site.

What will you do?

  • Create, maintain, and utilize data analytical tools that connect ERP systems data within the organization that are required for planning, inventory management, warehousing, and reporting.

  • Manage projects as well as participate on teams regarding key business initiatives.

  • Establish, maintain, and train personnel on efficient and effective SOP’s for best practice inventory management processes.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, materials management, warehousing and finance groups to provide guidance on inventory variance reconciliation to ensure only appropriate adjustments are taken.

  • Document variances and adjustments to facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence and assure a high level of inventory accuracy which results in reduced inventory levels, reduced space requirements, minimized slow moving, minimized expired materials and lower carrying costs.

  • Resolve any inventory issues and advise management when appropriate

  • Maintain security and integrity controls.

  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.

  • Develop, maintain, and cross-functionally train personnel on the construction of these analytical tools to support planning, inventory management and reporting.

  • Investigate new supply chain and inventory control concepts through continued education, seminars, training, and/or other research avenues, including those offered internally.

  • Implement and maintain processes and procedures to assure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

  • Ensure that KPI metrics are maintained and reported monthly

  • Maintain functionality of Microsoft Access databases and other reporting and visualization tools while designing, developing, testing, and implementing new databases and reports in such programs as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, SQL, utilizing information from the data warehouse.

  • Support ad hoc requirements.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years of experience in business analyst or equivalent experience within supply chain, operations, or logistics.

  • Proficiency required in SQL Server, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, and Excel

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • APICS certification, familiarity with DRP/MRPII systems, SAP and AS400 Query preferred.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems and the ability to learn various inventory management and warehouse management systems

  • Strong understanding of inventory management processes and supply chain principles preferred.

  • Experience developing and maintaining automated reports and metrics highly desired.

  • Ability to influence, manage conflict, and build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and inventory owners

  • Ability to participate in system enhancements, identification, and projects

  • Demonstrated analytical/problem solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong data extraction skills required

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently
