Job Title: Manufacturing Associate I

Objectives: Perform tasks within full-scale production manufacturing operations, including routine assembly and/or quality and reliability testing following established methods and procedures. Associates will be cross-trained on various assembly processes and procedures and expected to effectively perform any/all assigned tasks within the production/manufacturing operations while meeting the standard run time associated with each item.


Able to perform all Manufacturing Associate I responsibilities:

  1. Able/capable to properly and effectively complete the assembly of surgical components, sub-assemblies, modules, and final systems using standard tools, pneumatic torque tools, and other various assembly tools.

  2. Read and follow drawings and SOPs to produce consistent, high quality products.

  3. Use of computer to navigate through work instructions, to back flush products, and to complete applicable data entries for documentation and printing of production labels.

  4. Able/capable to properly and effectively use multiple types of Inspection, Measuring, and Testing Equipment or devices to assure and document product quality performance requirements.

  5. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with documented procedures and applicable statistical techniques.

  6. Maintain highest quality and report any findings of quality issues related to components, products, or processes.

  7. Maintain accurate and complete production records.

  8. Responsible for properly documenting, signing, and dating the Device History Record for the applicable task(s) or tests performed.

  9. Responsible for completing, signing, and dating training sheets or computer-generated training records once training has been performed and prior to working on the associated product/process.

  10. Learn and perform various tasks as assigned.

  11. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace for oneself and co-workers.

  12. Responsible for 5S activities in assigned areas throughout the day and at the end of shift.

  13. Encouraged to participate in further 5S and Lean initiatives throughout all workstations.

  14. Able to properly lift and handle items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

  15. Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers through annual safety trainings, participation in stretching break activities, and reporting any safety issues or potential safety issues.

Scope of Position:

Learn and perform various tasks as assigned:

  1. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace for oneself and co-workers.

  2. Encouraged to learn and participate in 5S and Lean initiatives.

  3. Responsible for personal safety and safety of co-workers through annual safety trainings, participation in stretching break activities, and reporting any safety issues that may arise.

  4. Effectively communicate and inform the Production Lead or Team Leader/Supervisor of any potential or actual non-conformance issue.

  5. Effectively and respectfully communicate with other team members in a diverse and mutually respectful culture.

  6. Effectively, respectfully, and tactfully communicate performance information to visitors and others outside of the department.


Required Education: High School diploma required. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to read and write, add and subtract whole numbers; follow instructions; effective use of assembly tools and fixtures, fixed gauges, direct reading instruments, and similar devices where interpretation is not required. Dependable and reliable with strong attendance record.

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience of non-medical device production / assembly experience or equivalent.


Minimum of 6 months of regulated medical device production experience or equivalent.

Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effective use of simple equipment in performing duties as per documented procedures to achieve acceptable results.
