Position Description:

O’Brien Corporation is seeking a Senior Product Engineer with experience in the design, development, and manufacture of custom engineered heated products. This engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and will be involved in all engineering aspects at the site.

Responsibilities:

• New Product Development

• Product improvement through the VA/VE process

• Subject matter expert for all products manufactured by O’Brien

• Investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions

• Creating and maintaining proprietary engineering computer programs

• Manufacturing process and equipment support

• Engineering data analysis

• Lean Process Support

• Completing special projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (required)

• Minimum 10 years of experience of related industry experience (required)

• Working knowledge of Heat Transfer (required)

• Experience with electrically heated equipment (required)

• Programming experience, such as VBA, C#, or SQL (preferred)

• Experience the design and/or operation of temperature control systems (preferred)

• Knowledge of hazardous electrical area requirements (NEC, CSA, IECeX, ATEX) (preferred)

• Experience working with approval agencies and standards such as FM, UL, CSA, ASME, and ASTM (preferred)

• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and Autodesk Vault (preferred)

• Experience with ISO 9001 in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Must be willing to travel (<10%)
