We are currently seeking a Purchaser to support the Purchasing and Administrative work centers by executing the process of buying material, hardware, etc. to analyze deficiencies, new requirements and assist in performance improvement to meet LMI’s 100% on-time delivery objective. In all actions supports LMI’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other LMI policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage PO process between suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
Knowledge of existing supplier contracts and capabilities.
Review PO’s to research and analyze existing pricing to determine where possible cost reductions may be realized at the material/hardware level. Negotiate alternative pricing with supplier as necessary.
Research and identify suppliers for new requirements as necessary.
Research and identify alternate suppliers as needed for current supplies.
Manage PO due dates to ensure on-time delivery.
Liaison between plant and suppliers to facilitate the incoming flow.
Communicates on-time delivery and quality performance to vendors.
Responsible for supplier monitoring per QMS requirements
Write purchase orders for material, hardware, finished goods, etc. as required
Verify purchasing requirements on work order
Trouble-shoot issues with suppliers that affects the purchased product.
Negotiates / finds the best price possible with suppliers.
Execute PO flow process.
All duties as assigned by the Supervisor and or other members of the management team.
Use Lean DNA and E2 systems to ensure PO’s are aligned correctly with production needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities or tasks simultaneously.
Ability to effectively and professionally present information and respond to questions verbally one-on-one to individuals and to large groups.
Ability to write professional business correspondence, reports, etc.
Demonstrated proficiency with; Excel, Word and Access software.
Demonstrated ability to accurate typing skills
Demonstrated decision-making ability utilizing good judgment in determining the appropriate guideline, procedure, and application to utilize in solving problems
Thorough understanding of process flows, lead times and lean principles in a mfg environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean DNA and E2 systems
2-3 years experience in aerospace purchasing preferred
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
